About Me

Who am I?:

Hey! My name is Leunam Duran,
I'm a 18 year old Aspiring Voice Actor and YouTuber. I run a YouTube channel with just over 150 subs and it's still growing strong! I love Voice Acting and Voice-Over work with a passion!

FAQ

What made you want to get into VA Work?:

It initially stemmed from my love for cartoons as a kid, cartoons have always been a big part of my life. I didn't have a phone or any personal electronic device till about my early teen years (which is a good thing) so I had a lot of free time as a kid. When I wasn't playing games with my siblings, I was watching cartoons. At the time I never thought of the actual Actors that starred in the cartoons but I was completely immersed in their performances.By the time I finally had a phone of my own complete with internet access, my main obsession had become Minecraft. I remember all I would do was watch Minecraft videos on YouTube every day. There was this one Minecraft YouTuber that stood out to me, by the name of Aphmau. She had a Minecraft series called Minecraft Diaries, which was a Minecraft roleplay series. It started off with just npc characters but over the course of the series she incorporated Voice Actors into the series and it blew my mind. By this time I knew about Voice Acting but only really thought about it as a really professional job, but this Minecraft Series made me realize that there are a lot of small Voice Acting projects even just on YouTube. My interest was officially piqued.

When did you start doing VA Work and how long has it been?:

After finally learning about and finding interest in Voice Acting, I didn't immediately start looking for projects. I was still pretty young and I was honestly insecure about my voice, thinking it wasn't good, or cool, or deep enough yet to start, which I obviously realize now is never true.It wasn't until 2020, when the world went into quarantine and everyone had plenty of time at home to find new hobbies that I finally got around to starting with Voice Acting at the age of 15. I’ve been working at it ever since, now i've been doing Voice-Over work (non professionally) for about 2 years now! It quickly became a deep-rooted passion of mine!I have been and continue to keep working hard to improve, so I'm confident in my skills and strive to always get better! With this latent talent i've found and skills I've learned and further wish to learn, I hope to turn it into a legitimate career and do Voice-Over professionally!

What has VA Work been like? and How have you improved so far?:

It's been amazing!I've had a lot of fun and have improved a whole lot at the same time! I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of many different projects! I've also had great opportunities to work with other amazing people and Voice Actors which has really taught me a lot about working on a team!Sadly, multiple of the projects I've done work for have been cancelled (for numerous reasons) However, the bright side is, I've gained plenty of experience from those projects and they’ve helped in improving my skills! And don’t worry, there’s plenty of projects I'm currently working in that are still in the works!See the full list of the projects I've been in on my "Voice Over Work" page!
